Super Starter Set January 9, 2009 I'm a beginner who wants to branch out and play in more keys. This set looked like a good way to begin and I am very happy that I bought it. I have not had any problems with any of the harmonicas in this set and I think they all sound very good. I was able to quickly pick out many of my favorite harmonica parts in songs - Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Beatles - and play them on this set. I play by ear and this set does me well.
When I first opened up the case and saw that the bodies were plastic, I was concerned. But after I played them a few times, I had no issues with them at all. The case they come in is very nice, they look good in black, and the keys are clearly labeled so it's easy to pick out the one you want.
I recommend this set for anyone wishing to get started - and you can't beat the price!
hohner harmonicas December 30, 2008 This is a really great set of harmonicas great Christmas gift,I heard music all day
very poor quality - 3 of them dont work :( December 19, 2008 very poor quality - 3 of them dont work :( the ones that do work sound great but 3 out of 7 is too many to be defective :( prepare for extreme disappointment
Great beginner set December 11, 2008 This is a great set for a beginner to start learning without shelling out a lot of money, and have many keys to experiment with over some of your favorite CD tracks. If you progress and want to continue, you'll want to move up to higher quality instruments. If you don't take to it, you haven't broken the bank.
If I were an "experienced" player I wouldn't for a moment have thought that this was high enough quality for me at this price point.
If you're looking for a low-cost introduction to the harmonica, I think this is your set.
A good starter set, great case, and a bargain price November 23, 2008 As with other reviewers I would agree that this is a good set to start you off, and the case will serve as a good home for better harps and you buy them.
Try it out. As you find the keys that suit your needs replace the original cheap harps with better quality ones, but keep the originals for the keys that you don't use too often.
I'm very happy with this purchase.
